I sent this email to the group a few days ago, and thought I'd post it here as well for future reference.
Upcoming schedule changes:
1) There will be NO DANCING on February 2nd - I'm going to be in Mexico!!!
2) On Feb. 9 we will be dancing downstairs from where we usually are. The bridge group is leaving, and given that the parquet floor is starting to lift in places again we thought we'd give the floor downstairs a try. I'd love to have as much feedback afterwards as possible.
3) On Feb. 16 (Family Day) we will be dancing, upstairs.
Whether we dance upstairs or downstairs after that will depend on how the 9th works out.
Upcoming events:
1) Hyacinth's annual workshop in Arnprior is on Saturday April 11 starting at 1:00 pm. This is a great workshop for our group because you will get a walkthrough of almost all the dances, which is unusual elsewhere. There will be dances taught - the guest instructor/choreographer is Ira Weisburd, who teaches around the world. But there will also be lots of other dancing. I'd like to fill several cars! There is the option of staying for supper and dancing until 9:00, which some may want to do and others may not. So even if you're away right now, put it on your calendar if there's a chance you'll get home in time.
2) April 18 there is a workshop in Trenton, starting at noon, with supper and dancing until 11:00 pm. That requires an overnight stay and pre-registration, so if you're interested please let me know asap. I am going and can drive and arrange accommodation together.
3) June 4-7 is Celebrate Dance in Toronto. This is organized by Robert Mah, who has come to our class several times. Pre-registering as a large group gets everyone a discount, so if you are interested I can add you to the Crazy Soles group. I am definitely planning to go, and we can drive and stay together if you want. Carole is considering coming as well. Again, please let me know asap if you're interested.
